Identity Protection

Posted on 16 Feb 2012

Identity protection is extremely important nowadays. How do you handle your transactions and personal information? Hopefully with great care! You should attend identity protection seminars, shred old credit cards and other old personal information, and sign up for identity protection services.

Be careful of fraudulent phone calls, mail and email that appear to be the real thing. Be careful of supposed lottery winnings, a large inheritance, vacation or a free trip offer. Report such suspicious activity. Don’t return emails or phone calls to the sources where you received them. Very smart people have been fooled by very clever bad guys.

Identity theft is gigantic and growing. Other countries regularly steal millions of peoples’ identities from secure locations. Destroy what you don’t need. Shred important documents, and deliberately overwrite or destroy old hard drive information. Lock your important information away in a safe. Don’t give out your social security number unless you absolutely have to. Check your monthly bank statements against your known transactions.

But most importantly, be careful, not paranoid, and you should be fine and free to use your money for your own pleasures. Read more about identity theft protection on our website.
